The direct lending service is governed by :
- Regulation on State Public Libraries (D.P.R. 5 July 1995, n. 417 art. 50-60) and by
- Internal rules of the National University Library of Turin (in updating)
HOURS
The distribution – loan room is open from Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm, and from Tuesday to Thursday from 9 to 6.30pm.
The last withdrawal from the book depository is made half an hour before closing.
MODE
The loan can be made:
- directly in the distribution-loan room
- via the booking form to be sent to bu-to.prenotazioni@cultura.gov.it
The user will be notified by email about the availability of the requested material that must be collected in the library within 3 days.
A maximum of 5 volumes can be borrowed at a time (3 works if belonging to the same collection).
You can delegate a person of your confidence to the collection of volumes, after completion and delivery of the delegation to the distribution- loan room(proxy form).
To return the volume you do not need to fill in the proxy.
ADMISSION
To access the direct loan service you must be enrolled in the Library and be over 18 years of age.
The loan service is available to Italian citizens, citizens of the European Union and non-EU with the following requirements:
- have turned 18
- filling in the guarantee document by the parent/guardian in the case of minors (minor loan guarantee forme)
- be Italian citizens resident in Piedmont
- be Italian citizens resident in other regions who can document the domicile in Piedmont for study, search or work
- be citizens of EU countries who can document their residence in Piedmont for the purposes of study, research or work.
- be citizens of non-EU countries, in possession of the residence permit issued by the police headquarter, who can document the domicile in Piedmont for study, search or work.
It is possible to submit a self-certification by filling in the self-certification form.
Any change of residence, domicile, telephone, email, must be promptly communicated by email or telephone.
The data provided will be processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679.
DURATION AND EXTENSION OF THE LOAN
The loan has a duration of 30 days and can be extended for a further 15 days.
The extension can be requested, by phone or email, only once and before the expiry date of the loan.
SANCTIONS
The user who is late in returning the volumes will be suspended from the service for the period corresponding to the accumulated delay.
The user who returns a damaged work received on loan or loses it, is obliged to replace it. If this is not possible, it shall pay a sum not less than twice the commercial value of the document.
In compliance with art. 58 D.P.R. 417/1995 the user in default will be excluded from the frequency of the Library, reported to the Ministry of Culture for exclusion from state public libraries and reported to the judicial authority.
NOT FOR LOAN
Manuscripts, works of particular value and rarity or in a precarious state of preservation, books kept by the Library as legal deposit, periodicals, reference works, theses, gifts and scholastics with SCOL placement are excluded from lending.
