
Reception
Borrowed volumes can be returned in reception. There are two stations for consulting the Library’s online catalog.
Historical Hall Erminia Caudana
The room is named after Erminia Caudana (1896-1974), a paper and parchment restorer who devoted her life to the recovery of manuscripts burned in the 1904 fire.


Filippo Juvarra Exhibition Hall
That space, inaugurated in 2015, owes its name to the well-known Messina architect-artist Filippo Juvarra, whose rich documentary corpus the Library preserves.
Antonio Vivaldi Auditorium
The room owes its name to the Venetian composer whose autographs (over 90 percent) the Library holds the largest number of known in the world.


Food court
The refreshment area is a relaxing, cozy and private space within the Library that can be used at any time of the day. Users can sit on comfortable chairs and take advantage of vending machines for coffee, soft drinks and snacks.
The courtyard
The courtyard is an outdoor space inside the Library building that is relaxing and usable throughout the year. Here the user can sit on seats surrounded by small green areas.


Queen Margaret Exhibition Hall
The room houses the permanent exhibition The Sovereign Reader and preserves volumes from Queen Margaret’s personal library.
Luigi Firpo Foundation
Access to the Foundation Library is granted after registering on the premises with ID. A reasoned letter of introduction signed by an academic, on University or research institution letterhead, is required to consult the ancient collection.


Distribution room
Users can access the room upon registration (see Reception). You must be 18 years of age or older to use the volume lending service.


Manuscripts and rare books room
Users can access the room after registering (see Reception) and making a reservation via e-mail. For consultation of manuscripts and rare books, proof of faculty status must be presented.
