The refreshment area is a relaxing, cozy and private space within the Library that can be used at any time of the day. Users can sit on comfortable armchairs and take advantage of vending machines for coffee, soft drinks and snacks. The area is enhanced by a small green corner that decorates the bright space, which features ornate stained glass windows. The refreshment area holds three works: two inspired by the evolution of thought (1974-75) by artist Renzo G. Regosa in welded bronze metal foil, designed and created for the competition held for the artistic beautification of the Library on the occasion of the opening of the current location; and the third, “To read; to see” (2017), a sculptural work by artist Ezio Gribaudo, depicting a stack of encyclopedic tomes in a vertical line in white Lecce stone.
