Acquired primarily between 1762 and 1763, the documents within this corpus offer a comprehensive insight into the work of the artist from Messina. Juvarra’s diverse artistic output is vividly showcased through the drawings compiled in the volume with the current shelfmark RIS 59.4. This volume, which entered the Library’s collection in 1857, has been acclaimed by critics as one of the most representative displays of Juvarra’s genius. The book titled “Filippo Juvarra regista di corti e capitali dalla Sicilia al Piemonte all’Europa,” edited by Franca Porticelli, Costanza Roggero, Chiara Devoti, and Gustavo Mola di Nomaglio and published by Centro Studi Piemontesi in 2020, provides a systematic inventory of all the drawings (over 1000) from the Corpus Juvarrianum preserved at the National Library.
