PRESTITO INTERBIBLIOTECARIO (ILL – InterLibrary Loan)
The interlibrary loan service (ILL) consists in requesting from other Italian or foreign libraries books not owned by the National University Library of Turin.
The interlibrary loan service, national and international, is governed by the:
- Regulation on state public libraries (D.P.R. 5July1995, n.417art. 50-60)
- Internal rules of the library
The user shall bear the shipping costs
MODALITY
*for the users:
The service is available for all registered users.
The loan application can be made:
- directly in the distribution room – loan room
- by email to bu-to.interbibliotecario@cultura.gov.it (ILL form)
After the request the user will receive the estimate of the costs of the requested service.
*for Libraries:
The loan can be made:
- through the ILL-SBN procedure (for Italian libraries participating in the procedure)
- by e-mail to bu-to.interbibliotecario@cultura.gov.it
The loan has a duration of 30 days, and an extension of 30 days is possible.The request for extension must be sent via email at least one week before the expiry date.
RESPONSIBILITY
The requesting user in the event of failure to withdraw the requested volume is still required to pay reimbursement costs.
The requesting library is responsible for the volume from the shipment until return. In the event of loss or damage due to both travel and use by the user, the library will be subject to the same rules as for direct lending.
