InterLibrary Loan (ILL)
The interlibrary loan (ILL) service is carried out at the distribution-loan room and consists of the retrieval, from other Italian or foreign libraries, of books not owned by the Turin National University Library.
Interlibrary loan service, national and international, is governed by the Regulations containing rules on state public libraries (PresidentialDecree No. 417, July 5, 1995, Art. 50-60).
Shipping costs are the responsibility of the user.
Mode
*for users:
A user who wants to use the service must be registered with the Library.
The loan application can be made:
- directly on site in the distribution room
- via email to be sent to bu-to.interbibliotecario@cultura.gov.it(ILL form)
After the request, the user will receive the quote for the service and information about the payment method.
*for Libraries.:
The loan can be made:
- Through the ILL-SBN procedure (for Italian libraries participating in the procedure).
- via email to be sent to bu-to.interbibliotecario@cultura.gov.it
The loan has a term of 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days. The request for extension must be requested, via email, at least one week before the expiration date.
Responsibility
The requesting user in the event of failure to collect the requested volume is still required to pay the stipulated expense reimbursements.
The requesting library is responsible for the volume sent from the time of shipment until it is returned. In the event of loss or damage due to either travel or user use, the library will be subject to the same regulations as for direct borrowing.
